Bread Gulab Jamun

I made this Bread Gulab jamun during  our 1 st Anniversary along with Eggless vanila cake. I am bored of making gulab jamun with readymade mix  and wanted to try new one.  It is very simple and easy . For a change try this instead of  regular gulab jamuns.

Here is the recipe...

Ingredients:

Bread slices - 7 pieces

Milk powder - 2 tbsp  ( optional)

Milk - 1/2 cup

Oil for deep frying

For Sugar syrup

Sugar  - 1/2 cup

Water- 1/2cup

 cardamom - 2 nos

Method:

1.  Trim the edges of the bread slices.  Keep aside.

2. Meanwhile prepare sugar syrup.  Take a pan dissolve suar in water and heat until  syrup reaches sticky consistency. crush the cardamom and add it to the  syrup .

3. Now take the milk in the wide bowl and dip the bread slice . Squeeze the excess milk and put it in the mixer jar for grinding.

4. Grind it to the smooth paste. You can also add milk powder at this stage for extra flavour. pinch a equall sized ball . Dont apply pressure. Be gentle while rolling and do not roll so tightly.

5.  Heat oil in the frying pan . Fry the balls in medium or in the low flame till golden brown.

6. Transfer the balls in to the sugar syrup when it is hot.

Serve hot or chilled.

Delicious dumplings!!! dig in to it :)

Notes:

  •  Dont apply pressure while rolling also don't roll tightly. If you roll tightly inside part  will be hard.

  • Fry jamuns in the medium or in the low flame. If you fry in the high flame it will get burnt and inside will not be cooked properly.

  • Adding milkpowder is optional. If you don't have you can avoid it.
