It is the simple poriyal. Goes well with rasam and sambar. Moong dal is the main ingredient for this poriyal. I learnt this recipe from my mom. when i was in college days i used to cut this veggie and help mom in making this poriyal. Mom admires my work. My cutting work will be perfect and neat. But i used to take more time to cut the veggie. Now???things have changed... after marriage, being alone in the kitchen, i learnt many things... now, doing these works very fast and perfectly. My hubby has named me as a perfect queen ;)
Here comes the recipe...

Snake gourd - 1(medium size)
Moong dal - 4- 5 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1tsp
Urad dal - 2 tsp
Coconut grated - 3 tbsp
Red chilli - 5- 6 nos
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - as needed
Water - as needed
Method:
1. Cut ridge gourd as shown in the picture. You have to cut length wise and remove the seeds and then put cross sections.
2. Take 4 - 5 tbsp of moong dal and mix the dal and snake gourd pieces with your hand in a big plate.
