Cabbage poriyal


Cabbage poriyal goes well with rasam. There are different versions in making this poriyal. Soon i ll post the other versions too.














Here is the recipe...



Ingredients:


Cabbage -  1 (small size) or 1/2 (medium size)

Onion - 1 no.

Mustard seeds - tsp.

Oil  -  1tbsp.

Grated coconut - 3tbsp.

Chilli powder  -  1 tsp.

Salt  -  as needed

Water  -  as needed.


Method:

1. Cut the cabbage in to fine strips and cut the onion length wise.











2. Heat the oil in the pan. Add mustard seeds after it splutters, add onion and fry till transparent.












3. Then add cabbage,chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Stir it.












4. Add enough water to cook the cabbage. Cook covered in the medium flame for about 10 - 15 mins.











5. Now the water will be drained and cabbage will be cooked. Finally add the grated coconut and stir for a minute.


     



Our poriyal is ready...
